ICT-Enabled A/C Lecture Theatres

In order to provide an environment conducive to pragmatic learning, the lecture theatres are equipped with an AV system, a PA system and internet connectivity.

Computer Centre

The Institute has a cutting-edge centrally air-conditioned multi-lab Computer Centre equipped with the following:

  • High end multi-media workstations in 1:1 ratio.
  • Round-the-clock 50 MBPS dedicated lease line for Internet connectivity from Airtel on optic fibre to cater to the needs of the faculty and students on campus.
  • High end IBM server operating on Linux/Windows.
  • LAN connectivity.
  • Licensed Academic Softwares in alliance with Microsoft.
  • Dedicated Research Labs.
  • Peripheral support including scanners and laser printers.
  • 100% power back-up with standby generator.

Seminar and Syndicate Room

The Institute has centrally air-conditioned seminar and syndicate rooms equipped with LCD projectors, Smart Boards and multimedia systems. These rooms are used regularly for student seminars, group presentations, project discussions and guest lectures.

Library

The Institute maintains a well managed reservoir of contemporary text and reference books, e-Books and DVDs pertaining to different topics of our education programmes. Additionally, our libraries hold more than 29,000 volumes on contemporary issues, industry studies, annual reports of various companies, project reports and biographies. The library’s management system is fully computerised.

Auditorium

The state-of-the-art centrally air-conditioned auditorium with seating capacity of 240 persons is equipped with an LCD projector, a large LCD screen and a modern Public Announcement System. The auditorium is used to conduct various co-curricular and extra-curricular actives including conferences, seminars, workshops and faculty development programs.

Canteen Area

The Institute has a well-managed canteen and a Nescafe outlet. These are interspersed with dedicated spacious seating areas for students, staff and guests. Canteen area serves as a spot where students not only get a plethora of healthy-eating options but also as a hub of hearty conversation which helps them unwind.

Dhyan Kaksha/Meditation Room

Yoga and Stress Management workshops are organized in Dhyan Kaksha. These workshops are conducted with the mission of inculcating the art of self management.

Common Rooms for Girls and Boys

Separate common rooms have been provided for boys and girls where they can interact, unwind and widen their knowledge through peer learning.

Sports

The institute owns a well equipped sports center that provides an opportunity to students for pursuing their interest in various sports activities. The above said functions with the aim of encouraging students to participate in indoor and outdoor sports activities. This helps in developing their physical abilities, willpower and self discipline.

Solar Power Plant

"Electricity generated on non-teaching days and holidays is transmitted to the grid." Solar Power Plant at IITM was installed and commissioned on March 6, 2014. The Installed capacity of the plant is 20 KW The plant produces around 80 units of electricity per day. Netmetering was incorporated on Aug 18, 2015.
